03 LARKSPUR Fabric : STRIPED MESH

SOWER offers a new type of mesh for the summer; a fabric that combines a sporty element with airy transparency. Originally inspired by a mesh top from SOKO's vintage clothing collection, the striped mesh was incorporated into the 03 LARKSPUR collection to match the stripes that are seen in the brand's inspiration for this collection. “We decided to use a raschel knitting technique in order to express the vertical stripes within the mesh net. It’s a machine that combines knitting and weaving techniques at once," says SOKO.

スポーティさとエアリーな透け感を併せ持ったメッシュのファブリック。SOWERの夏には、一味違ったストライプのメッシュが登場した。元々は、SOKOが所有する古着コレクションにある全体がメッシュのトップスから着想。03 LARKSPURコレクションで多くみられたストライプの表現とも合わさり、メッシュにストライプを取り入れた提案に。「1台でストライプとネットを編み出すため、ラッセル機という特殊な編み機を使うことになりました。布帛とカットソーの両方のメリットを合わせ持っている機械なんです」とSOKO。

This unique stripe mesh was produced in 3 styles in black and white. “I wanted to create all the pieces to be the final overlay to an outfit. The mesh area is sheer to unveil what is worn underneath and the stripes give a sharpness to the final overall look.”(SOKO)
Small details, such as creating tucks in the fabric and sewing pleats in the sleeveless top and skirt allows for refined styling. SOWER proposes a fun approach to summer layering with these mesh pieces.
